Roos Secure Victory in Men’s 4x100 Relay with 40.53 Seconds, Leading Charge at KU Relays

LAWERANCE, Kan. — Kansas City brought their skills to the University of Kansas for the KU Relays. Jaleesa McWashington continued to improve her performance in the one-hundred-meter hurdles, setting a personal best of 14.65 seconds in the first round and securing a spot in the finals where she finished fourth with a time of 14.41 seconds. McWashington then showcased her talent in the pits, securing fourth place with a jump of 5.67 meters. Shifting her focus to the triple jump, she claimed third place with a leap of 11.69 meters. Imari Roach also impressed with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump, covering a distance of 11.48 meters.

Meanwhile, Troy Lanham and Logan Pratt prepared for the upcoming Summit League Championship, with Pratt clocking in at 21.29 seconds and Lanham close behind at 21.39 seconds in the 200 meters. In the 800 meters, Kai White set a personal record of 1:56.50, followed by Bret Beards with a time of 1:56.88.

Nahshon Houston showcased his strength in the jumps, finishing second with a jump of 7.34 meters. The men's 4x100-meter relay team secured the win with a time of 40.53 seconds, highlighting the weekend.

Looking ahead, the Roos are set to return to the University of Kansas for the Rock Chalk Classic next week.
