Roos Hire Former NAIA Coach of the Year Jon Lewis as Next Associate Head Coach

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Mar. 30, 2026) – Jon Lewis, a five-time Heart of America Conference Coach of the Year recipient, has been named Women's Basketball Associate Head Coach, the program announced today. Lewis comes to Kansas City as one of the winningest head coaches of all-time at the NAIA level, ranking No. 18 on the national active wins list.

Candi Whitaker Returns to Kansas City to Lead Women’s Basketball Program
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Mar. 11, 2026) – Kansas City Women's Basketball welcomes back Candi Whitaker to return as the program's next head coach heading into the 2026-27 season, Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin announced Wednesday morning. The 18-year head coaching veteran returns to familiar territory as Whitaker took the reins of the Roos back in 2006 and led Kansas City for six seasons as the seventh head coach in program history. Whitaker will now become the Roos' 11th head coach since joining Division I in 1987-88.

Kansas City Announces Women's Basketball Leadership Transition
KANSAS CITY (Mar. 6, 2026) – Kansas City Women's Basketball will start a new chapter in the program's soon-to -be 40-year history, as announced today by Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin. The Dionnah Jackson-Durrett era comes to a close following her fourth year at the helm in 2025-26.
