Student-Athlete Leadership Cabinet (SALC)

Overview and Mission:

Kansas City's Student-Athlete Leadership Cabinet (SALC) representatives serve as leaders within the athletic department, and on campus. The group of twenty-seven representatives meets monthly to encourage team, department and school unity, while promoting excellence and a commitment to community and campus service. SALC addresses issues affecting student-athletes, while also serving as a vehicle of communication among student-athletes, coaches and athletic administrators. SALC strives to affect positive change within the athletic department, on campus and within the community.

Goals:

Build unity amongst athletic teams
Promote a positive student-athlete image on campus
Organize and lead community service projects
Promote communication between athletics administration and student-athletes
Disseminate information
Provide feedback and insight into athletic department issues
Respond to and comment on WAC and NCAA legislation
