Roos Hit the Road Face NDSU, North Dakota

Kansas City Women’s Basketball travels to North Dakota to resume conference play
Starting Five
- The Roos will look to extend their road winning streak to two and pick up their third consecutive win over NDSU. The last time the Roos and the Bison faced Kansas City ended #2 NDSU's season during the conference tournament with a 71-64 victory.
- Alayna Contreras made her first start of the season in the Roos win over Weber State. She earned a career-high 20 points and played a career-high 37 minutes. She ranks third on the team in points with 145 and second in assists with 33 so far this season.
- In their win over Weber State the Roos tied their wins from last season, notching their ninth win. While the Blue and Gold currently boast a winning record, they will look to pick up their first wins of conference play in North Dakota.
- Nariyah Simmons has stayed steady for the Roos, starting in all 17 of their matchups so far this season. Last week, she averaged 7.5 points per game and two assists. She leads Kansas City in points this season with 165 this season.
- In Thursday's matchup against North Dakota, Kansas City will work to improve its winning record over the Fighting Hawks to 4-2. Both the Roos and the Fighting Hawks are 0-2 in the Summit League, falling to St. Thomas in the first week of conference play.
NDSU Notes
- The Bison picked up their first win of conference play over South Dakota in the conference opener. Heaven Hamling led NDSU in the 84-69 victory over the Coyotes, earning 24 points and three assists.
- The matchup between Kansas City and NDSU will mark the Bison's conference home opener. NDSU is undefeated at home, putting up wins over Jamestown, Eastern Michigan, Mayville State, Central Michigan and Northern Arizona.
- In their seven wins so far this season NDSU's smallest margin of victory was seven points against Northern Colorado. On average, when the Bison win they win by a margin of 22 points. The smallest margin of victory for the Roos was five points against Alabama A&M and Arkansas State. When the Roos win, their margin is 24.3 points on average.
North Dakota Note
- The Fighting Hawks face Omaha on Thursday before facing Kansas City on Saturday. North Dakota will look to pick up its first conference win in the matchup and fifth win of the season.
- Last season, the Fighting Hawks conference season ended with a loss against No. 6 Omaha who bumped North Dakota out of the tournament in the quarterfinal round. Omaha went on to face Kansas City, winning 69-60 and ultimately ending the Roos' season.
- Fifth-year guard, Kacie Borowicz leads North Dakota in points with 243 so far this season. She has appeared in 12 games for the Fighting Hawks and started in all 12 of those matchups. Borowicz averages 20.3 points per game and earned a season-high 32 points against St. Thomas on Dec. 29.
