The Roos were led by Lucas Dutartre with a 2-under 18th-place finish

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Kansas City Golf started strong and held on for a sixth-place finish at the GCU Invitational this week. The Roos were in first place after the first round of play, firing off a 9-under 275, but were unable to maintain that level across the final two rounds and dropped to sixth. Lucas Dutartre was the leader for KC, shooting a 68 in the first round and finishing tied for 18th with a 2-under finish.

STATS TO NOTE

The Roos' first round 275 was the third-best round shot by any team on the tournament. Only Grand Canyon (Second Round 270) and Fullerton (Third Round 271) shot for better scores.
Dutartre and Falleur both fired off a 3-under, 68 in the first round, the best individual rounds by Kansas City players on the week.
Kansas City had the best finish of the three Summit League teams competing in Phoenix. The Roos finished 24 strokes ahead of Omaha and 28 strokes ahead of St. Thomas.
