
Notes: Kansas City Brings in Omaha for Tuesday Night Conference Clash

Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City enters into a pivotal clash with Omaha on Tuesday evening as the Roos and Mavericks are both 2-5 in Summit League play. Along with North Dakota, KC and Omaha are all tied for sixth place in the conference standings. A win in one or both matchups this week with the Mavs and Fighting Hawks would put the Roos in strong position headed into the back half of the conference slate.
- Last time out, Kansas City took on Oral Roberts Saturday afternoon and came home with a win, sweeping the Golden Eagles 3-0 and earning their first true road win of the 2025 season. The Roos have been victorious over ORU in five of the teams last six matchups.
- Kansas City ranks second in the Summit League in total digs and total attacks as a team. The Roos have rallied for 2,505 attacks, a top 150 mark nationally, and 1,604 digs which is good for a top 120 mark in the country.
- The Roos have excelled on defense with 14.78 digs per set, ranking fourth best in the Summit League in that stat and 95th on the national scale.
- Lyla Jones is three assists away from the 1,000 assist mark for her career. The senior Arkansas-Pine Bluff transfer is leads the team in assists with 353, a mark that is also the 6th best in the Summit.
- Spearheading the Roos defensive effort is veteran defensive specialists Alaina Larson and Chloe Kaminski who both rank in the Summit top 10 in digs. Larson's team-leading 219 digs is 7th in the Summit while holding 10 matches of double digit digs. Kaminski's 194 digs is 10th best in the conference while holding eight matches of double figure digs this season.
- Ledisi Kpea leads the charge on both ends. The sophomore right side hitter is tied for 4th in the Summit League in total blocks with 73 while being 5th in block assists with 58 and tied for 1st in solo blocks with 15. Kpea is also first on the team in points with 178 and hitting percentage at .255 in the 2025 campaign.
- Omaha enters this matchup with Kansas City having played two games in four days. The Mavs are 5-11 overall and 2-5 in Summit League play this season. Omaha has lost three of the last four contests including a 3-0 sweep over Oral Roberts and losses to North Dakota State, South Dakota and Denver in that span.
- The Mavericks have struggled on the road this season, showcasing a 1-5 record in such matches with the lone win coming against Oral Roberts in a sweep. Despite losing five conference matches so far, Omaha has yet to be put away via a sweep in conference play, only losing in four or five sets thus far in 2025 Summit action.
- The Mavericks are a tough team to beat up front on defense as UNO ranks second in the conference and 25th nationally in blocks per set at 2.66 in 2025. Additionally, Omaha is third in the Summit and 95th in the country with a .237 hitting percentage as a team.
- Emily Huss is one of the college volleyball's elite front line blockers ranking 1st in the Summit and 8th nationally with 1.56 blocks per set. Huss also posts 92 total blocks, the best mark in the conference and the 30th best mark in the nation.
- Kali Jurgensmeier is top four in the Summit League in attacks per set at 9.85, kills per set at 3.71 and points per set at 4.46 while being top 150 in all three categories this season.
- Omaha came into the season positioned fourth in the Summit League Preseason Poll, garnaring 44 votes according to the head coaches across the conference. Emily Huss and Kali Jurgensmeier put on the Summit League Players to Watch list prior to the 2025 season.
