Michela Xibilia earned a straight set victory for the Roos' only point
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In Kansas City Tennis's first outdoor home match of the season, the Roos were out-dueled by Cincinnati, 6-1. Michela Xibilia won her fifth singles match of the year to earn KC's lone point of the day.
"Our first time outside took us a while to adjust, but we had some good, competitive matches against a strong Cincinnati team," Head Coach Kendell Hale said. "Michela still is playing some strong tennis. We need to get some players back off of injuries, but I think we will rebound against St. Thomas this weekend."
Cincinnati jumped on the Roos quickly in two and three doubles to earn the doubles point. Xibilia and Anastassiya Timofeyeva teamed up for the fourth-straight match in one doubles, playing to a 4-4 draw before the point was decided.
The Roos had to earn every point in singles, with every match being decided in straight sets. Grace Ball fell in a 6-4 decision in the first set before losing on court one. Tuana Tinaztepe kept things competitive on court five, falling by a break in both sets. Xibilia was the only Roo to pull out a victory, winning in a 6-4, 6-4 decision.
