Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Soccer closes its non-conference slate at Michigan State on Sunday afternoon, traveling to East Lansing for a meeting with the Spartans. It will be the latest in the year that the Roos have played an out-of-conference opponent on the road since the 2010 season, when KC traveled to Saint Louis for a match against the Billikens on Oct. 26.
- The Roos are coming off a 2-0 victory at Tulsa on Wednesday evening, taking down Head Coach Ryan Pore's alma mater in his 100th game on the Kansas City sidelines and winning the program's first-ever match at Tulsa in 12 games played.
- Jeremy Francou scored the game-winner in the 32nd minute on Wednesday, his seventh goal of the season. The junior forward currently ranks 34th in the NCAA in total goals, and with four game-winners on the year he is tied for third nation-wide.
- Freshman Bryce Outman tallied his fourth assist of the season on Raphael Kistmann's 59th-minute goal, moving him into a tie for the team-lead. All four of Outman's assists have come in the past six games, including three in the last four.
- The Roos are currently on a four-match winning streak and have won six of their last seven. A victory over the Spartans would match the team's longest winning streak since 1999, when Kansas City strung together a program-record six-straight wins from Sep. 19 through Oct. 9.
Michigan State Notes
- Michigan State enters Sunday's contest with a 5-6-2 record and most recently played UCLA to a 0-0 draw on Monday evening.
- The Spartans have been held scoreless in their last three contests. Their last goal came from Richie Ludwig against Penn State on Oct. 3, his third goal of the season.
- MSU's Zac Kelly has posted five shutouts in goal this season, ranking 44th in the NCAA.
- As a team, the Spartans average 12.85 shots per game, ranking 77th in the nation.
- This will be the first-ever meeting between KC and Michigan State. The Roos hold a 1-6-2 all-time record against current members of the Big Ten with games played against Rutgers (0-1-1), Wisconsin (0-1-1) and Northwestern (1-4-0).
